Life brings to us many types of thresholds. Thresholds are gateways of change, where we shift from one way of being to another. Inevitably, change comes in many forms including endings, beginnings, job changes, moves, births and deaths. Any choice point can be a threshold.
These gateways are check-ins for us to discover who we are in the world. They reveal whether we are living true to our soul or whether we have fallen under the spell of our shadow.
There are times when we walk through the gateway with our Higher Self and our actions flow from our heart with honor and kindness.
There are also times when we are not acting from our best self, when the change is abrupt, unwanted, highly stressed and painful. During such thresholds, our ego may rise up and dictate our actions.
Such is the power of free will. We can choose to walk with our soul, our higher self or a spiritual supporter. Or our shadow takes control, and we walk the path of our ego.
In the course of a lifetime, there are times when we will choose to walk with the light and other times when we walk with the dark. In truth, gateways are spiritual tests.
Thresholds create an opportunity to expand our self-awareness and to find out who we are in the holy moment. It is never too late to choose again.Our soul self is ever-present. Our higher self and our spiritual supporters are always nearby. We never have to be alone when we cross a threshold.
If we do not like the results of our actions, if the path does not represent who we want to be in the world, we can always choose again.
