Mantras to support your Journey
guidelines to support your mantra practice
I am a devoted practitioner of sanskrit and gurmukhi mantra. These languages were energetically developed and are vibrational in nature.
You are activating a specific vibrational intention when you chant a sanskrit or gurmukhi mantra. Traditionally, a sanskrit mantra is meant to be repeated 108 times in order to activate the vibration in each of the 108 energy bodies.

Kundalini Yoga Meditation Kriyas have very specific postures, hand positions (mudras), eye gaze (dristi), breathing techniques (pranayama), mantra chants and intentional focuses. In order to recieve the benefits, please read and follow all of the directions. If you have questions, please let me know.

Chanting a mantra, even once, can be transformational. For lasting change, it is best to develop a spiritual discipline of 40, 90 or 120 days.
Gurmukhi Mantras
The Adi Mantra
This mantra is chanted at the start of every kundalini yoga class. It is used to connect to the Divine Teacher and to awaken your intuitive creative powers. It protects the teacher and the student by surrendering the practice to the highest and holiest.

I bow to the Divine Teacher within

Mangala Mantra
This mantra creates a circle of white light around the space that is protective and illuminating. It removes obstacles and blockages, so things begin to flow in our direction. It is recomended to chant this mantra 3x before starting a car to protect us on our journey.

The Triple Mantra
for Protection
The triple mantra clear all types of psychic and physical obstacles and opposing vibrations, thoughts and actions. It is a protector against car, plane and other accidents.
Listening or chanting this mantra will strengthen your magnetic field and keep negativity away. I chant it for my family every night.

The first part of this mantra is the mangala mantra and it surrounds you with a powerful light, the second will remove obstacles and third parts will open doors that were previosuly closed.

The Mul Mantra
The Mul Mantra is the opening verse of the Sikh scripture, the Guru Granth Sahib. These are the first words that Guru Nanak chanted, when he emerged from the river, after he was missing for three days.
I chant this manta 11 times everyday and I also chant this for my family. It is most sacred to me because after I completed a 40-day discipline, I decided that I would continue with it for the rest of my life.
This mantra gives an experience of the depth and consciousness of your soul. It eradicates deep, longstanding pain and sorrow. It expands creativity and projects us into action in line with our destiny.

Gayatri Mantra
For Spiritual Development
I just love this mantra. In my work, I feel that chanting this mantra has developed and clarified my spiritual vision and my ability see the chakras and the levels of Heaven. I chant it when I walk and it was my daily spiritual practice for several years. I was taught the full version but the short version is more commonly chanted.

Om Bhur, Om Bhuvaha, Om Swaha,
Om Maha, Om Janaha, Om Tapaha,
Om Satyam Om Tat Savitur Varenyam Bhargo Devasya Dhimahi
Dhiyo Yonaha Prachodayat

"O Self-effulgent Light that has given birth to all the lokas (spheres of consciousness), who is worthy of worship and appear through the orbit of the Sun, illumine our intellect."

A Mantra for the Sacred Heart & for Children
This is a mantra that I learned from listening to Deva Premal. I wrote down the words so that I could stop whatever I was doing and chant it with her.
I later learned from Thomas Ashley Farrand that this mantra is for spiritual development and it is often used to attract a special soul to parents who want a child.

Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya

"I bow to the Lord, the Indweller, the higher and loving consciousness, that is omnipresent, omnipotent, immortal and divine, and lives in the hearts of all."

Gurmukhi Mantras
Ganpati Kriya

To Make the Impossible, Possible.
I have practiced this mantra for over twenty years. I didn't even realize that it had a name. It stayed with me and I used it when I was ill or my vibration was off. It is deeply transformational.
Sa Ta Na Ma,
Ra Ma Da Sa,
Sa Se So Hung

Sa = Infinity
Ta = Life
Na = Death, Transformation
Ma = Rebirth
Ra = Sun
Ma = Moon
Da = Earth
Sa = Impersonal Infinity
Sa Say = Totality of Infinity
So = Personal sense of merger and identity
