Springing Forward

It has always felt natural for me to follow the rhythms of the earth and stars. For as long as I can remember, I could feel the pull to expand, contract, flow or slow. As I stepped upon this sacred path, it came as a relief to realize that the energies, which I was so sensitive to, were embraced and honored by many spiritual traditions to include shamanism, yoga and the mystery schools.

Each of us, in our own ways, are sensitive to the rhythms of the earth and nature. We can tell that the light is increasing as the days get longer. In ancient times, humans understood that attuning to nature was essential to their survival. Spring initiated a time to begin again; to prepare the soil and to plant the seeds. In today’s world, our relationship with the earth and nature are just as important. Our divine design never intended for us to sit in front of computer screens for long hours.

It has never been more important for us to attune to the earth and the cosmic energies. On Saturday, the sun will move from Pisces, the last sign of the zodiac, into Aries. This is the beginning of a new cycle – a time of rebirth. I invite you to take time to celebrate the increasing light in your own way. Eat light and healthily. Make a pot of soup with lots of greens. Try standing before the rising sun with your eyes closed and breath the light into your 3rd eye. The energy will penetrate the pineal gland. The mystery schools used this practice to induce deep sleep and meditative states. Take a bath in essential oil (clary sage is good for our emotional wellbeing.) and Epsom salts. Use a salt or sugar scrub in the shower. Be inspired to clear, clean and bless your environments. Be creative in the many ways that you can initiate yourself into the new season.

The seasons of the earth are just one level of natural attunement. The sun, moon, planets, and stars are generating vibrations that impact all life on earth. We exist with the sacred geometry of the universe. The intersecting angles are present in our lives both externally and internally. In yoga, we work with the triangles that are created by our energetic anatomy. Triangles create flow and positivity. We want to enhance the flow and keep the energy moving. Squares are hard angles that creates blockage and disharmony. Cosmically, there is a square between Saturn (tradition and integrity) and Uranus (energy and innovation) that is impacting us with its ebb and flow this year.

I can feel this challenging energy and its effect in our world. One of the reasons that our souls have come to earth at this time is to learn to be harmonious, loving, and creative within challenging situations. We all have our own challenges. For some, it is health, others it may be financial or family situations. Our challenges often reveal our current path and purpose.

May this spring season welcome new opportunities. May you attune to the wisdom of nature and the cosmos. May your soul guide you from one reality to a whole new paradigm. May opportunities for love, healing, hope, peace, and positivity spring forth in your life. May the seeds that you plant this spring blossom in beauty and grace.

With love and light… ~Robin
